STATEMENT OF FAITH
WE BELIEVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH

*THE HOLY BIBLE*

WE BELIEVE...The Scriptures are Inspired by God and Declare His Design and Plan for Mankind. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

WE BELIEVE...There is Only One True God–Revealed in Three Persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity). (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10,11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22)

WE BELIEVE...In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's son Jesus was both human and divine.

a. His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35)

b. His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22)

c. His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38)

d. His substitutionary work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

e. His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4)

f. His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9,11; 2:33; Philippians

2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3)

WE BELIEVE...Though Originally Good, Man Willingly Fell to Sin–Ushering in Evil and Death, Both Physically and Spiritually, Into the World. (Genesis 1:26,27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19)

WE BELIEVE...Every Person Can Have Restored Fellowship with God Through 'Salvation' (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior). (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7) The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12)

WE BELIEVE...Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation. Sanctification is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike. (Romans 12:1,2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12). Scriptures teach that, “Without holiness no one will see God.” (Hebrews 12:14). Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to obey the command: “Be holy because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:15,16)

WE BELIEVE...In the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and the Initial Physical Evidence is “Speaking in Tongues,” as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles. (Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-10, 28) This is a supernatural experience from God distinct from and subsequent to the experience of a water baptism/new birth (Acts 8:12-17; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9). With the Baptism in the Holy Spirit come the infilling of supernatural power from God for life and service, and the bestowment of gifts and their uses in the work of ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31), an overflowing fullness of the Spirit (John 7:37-39; Acts 4:8), a deepened reverence for God (Acts 2:43; Hebrews 12:28), an intensified consecration to God and dedication to His work (Acts 2:42), and a more active love for Christ, for His Word, and for the lost. (Mark 16:20)

WE BELIEVE…In the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

WE BELIEVE...The Church Has a Mission to Seek and Serve All Who Are Lost in Sin. We believe 'the Church' is the Body of Christ and consists of the Five-fold ministry to equip people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13; Hebrews 12:23, 28-29)

WE BELIEVE...In a Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership That Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that Jesus is head of His church. “And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” (Ephesians 1:22-23) Leaders of the church must commit to (1) love, worship, and obey God through Jesus Christ (John 4:23, 24; John 14:15), (2) evangelize the world (Mark 16:15-20), (3) build a Body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son Jesus (Ephesians 4:11,16), and (4) Meet human needs with ministries of love and compassion. (Psalms 112:9; Galatians 2:10; 6:10; James 1:27)

WE BELIEVE...In Practicing Two Ordinances— (1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47,48; Romans 6:4). (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) is a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation. (2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28)

WE BELIEVE…The People of Israel, Comprised of the Physical Descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, are Chosen by God. The Abrahamic Covenant expressed God's choice of Israel and His irrevocable, unconditional covenant to the Jewish people. Therefore, we love, pray for the salvation, peace, and protection of the Jewish people as echoed in Scriptures. (Genesis 12, chapters 1-3), verse 3: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 17:1-9; 26:3-5; 28:13-15; Acts 9:1-4; Zechariah 14:2-4; Acts 3:19-21; Romans 1:16; Romans 10:1-5; Ephesians 2:14-19)

WE BELIEVE...In The Blessed Hope—When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52)

WE BELIEVE...The Millennial Reign of Christ is when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace. (Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27,30; Revelation 1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6). This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel (Ezekiel 37:21,22; Zephaniah 3:19,20; Romans 11:26,27) and the establishment of universal peace. (Isaiah 11:6-9; Psalm 72:3-8; Micah 4:3,4)

WE BELIEVE...A Final Judgment Will Take Place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire. (Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8)

WE BELIEVE...In a New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. And so shall we forever be with the Lord!' (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21,22)

MARRIAGE, FAMILY, AND SEXUALITY

WE BELIEVE…God has wonderfully and immutably created each person as male or female. These two distinct genders together reflect the image and nature of God to include God’s Kingdom Plan for humanity. (Genesis 1:26-27). The term “marriage” as ordained by God means: the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in a single, exclusive union, intrinsically mandated by God for procreation and a biological family, binding father, mother, and child. “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number.” (Genesis 1:28; Genesis 2; Genesis 3; Matthew 19:4-9; Mark 10: 5-9; Ephesians 5:31-33) “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” (Hebrews 13:4) “You shall not commit adultery.” (Deuteronomy 5:18) God mandates that sexual intimacy occur only between a man (husband) and a woman (wife) who are married to each other. (1 Corinthians 7:2-5; Leviticus 18: 7-18; Leviticus 20:11-17; Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Deuteronomy 27:21; Leviticus 18:23) Because of our beliefs in the Holy Bible, we only recognize marriage between a biological man and a biological woman, and we only officiate marriages as such. (Genesis 2:18-25)

WE BELIEVE…All Sexual Immorality is Sin According to God’s Word. All sexual immorality is contrary to God’s created order for humanity and natural sexuality. All homosexual acts, same sex acts, bisexual acts, and transgender acts are sins according to God’s Word. “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” (Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:25-27; Genesis 19:24-25; Jude 1:7; Deuteronomy 22:5) Adultery (Hebrews 13:4), fornication (Ephesians 5:3), prostitution (Romans 6:13), bestiality (Deuteronomy 27:21), incest (Leviticus 18:6-18), are sins according to God’s Word. “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)

WE BELIEVE…God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sins, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:9) “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.” (Ezekiel 18:30) “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

(2 Chronicles 7:14-16; Colossians 3; Acts 3:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

WE BELIEVE…That Every Follower and Lover of Christ Must Stand Upon and Speak the Truth (Holy Scriptures) to all people, because only the Truth (Holy Scriptures) will set people free from their sins. “No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.” (1 John 3:9;

John 1:14; John 8:31-32; Ephesians 4:15, 25; Zechariah 8:16) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the practices or doctrines of the CFCN. (1 John 2:9-14; Luke 6:31) CFCN loves all people and pray that all people will desire to be reconciled to God through sanctification to experience divine deliverance, restoration, healing, peace and joy that stems from the forgiveness of sin through a personal relationship with Yeshua*Jesus Christ. (Romans 12:1-2) “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable.” (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4)

SANCTITY OF LIFE

WE BELIEVE…Life is a gift from God, begins at conception, and must always be regarded as sacred and protected. “And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.” (Acts 17:25) “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” (Psalm 127:3)
